Development Chemist
Advanced Composites Group has an exciting opportunity for a Development Chemist to work alongside a highly motivated, multi-discipline team in the Research and Development department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and introducing innovative, market leading composite materials and adhesives for a variety of applications.
A good honours degree or higher in Chemistry, Polymer science or Material Science is essential. A background in epoxy based reinforced composites would be a distinct advantage.
Suitable candidates must be confident, proactive and have a flexible style of work. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage several projects at once are essential.
The successful candidate will have strong communication skills and be able to present complex arguments at the highest level.
Previous experience in an R&D environment is a distinct advantage, but not essential.

Laboratory Technician (Mechanical Test Group)
This role will involve the manufacture, preparation and mechanical testing of various prepregs and adhesives for data generation and batch release. Skilled lamination and cure techniques will be required and the ability to run complex mechanical test equipment. The role will report to the Mechanical Test laboratory manager.
The suitable candidate will be observant, detail conscious, practically minded and capable of maintaining the highest levels of laboratory cleanliness. The candidate must be self-driven, motivated and able to work with limited supervision.
Candidates are likely to be educated to "A" level standards in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics or an appropriate science. However, applicants with some knowledge of chemistry or physics and laboratory experience will be considered, as will someone with in-depth composite manufacturing knowledge. More importantly is a 'can do' attitude and a willingness to learn and become involved in all aspects of the role. Some shift working may be required.

Laboratory Technician (Formulations Group)
This role will involve the operation of analytical equipment, the manufacture of formulated products and provide general support to the formulations chemist. The suitable candidate will be observant, detail conscious, practically minded and capable of maintaining the highest levels of laboratory cleanliness. They must be self-driven, motivated and able to work with limited supervision.
