Advanced Composites Group (ACG)
ACG specialises in the manufacture of high performance pre-impregnated (prepreg) advanced fibre reinforced composites. Our carbon fibre and glass fibre reinforcements, which are pre-impregnated using specially formulated epoxy, cyanate ester or bismaleimide resin matrixes are used in woven and stitched fabrics or as unidirectional tape formats across a diverse range of industries, the latter ensuring that tape placement or tape winding operations are well catered for. ACG also offers elastomers for intensifiers and reusable vacuum bags plus many other ancillaries.
ACG materials cater for all applications, with prepregs that cure at temperatures as low as 28°C (77°F) for low cost structures and high performance prepregs capable of withstanding service at temperatures as high as 800°C (1312°F).
Process technologies include standard autoclave, vacuum bag, out-of-autoclave and press moulding.
Motorsport
ACG has over 30 years' experience in the design and manufacture of high performance composite prepreg materials that exhibit exceptional impact tolerance and energy absorption characteristics. ACG supplies approaching 200 different specifications of composite materials which help keep the Grand Prix show on the road.
Aerospace
ACG's prepreg materials are widely used by major aerospace companies for their large scale tooling, where they provide prolonged service life. Out-of-autoclave processing is particularly suited to large aerospace structures. Space structures benefit from our prepreg's low moisture uptake and thermal expansion.
Automotive
ACG's carbon fibre prepreg materials are widely used by major European automotive manufacturers for class A surface finish body structures, impact structures and body panels.
Sports and Leisure
For strength and lightness, carbon fibre composites offer the highest performance material for sports goods. ACG have designed and built racing bikes for the British Olympic cycling team, which won gold, silver and bronze medals at the Athens Olympics and continue to succeed at many other Championships.
Construction
ACG materials have enabled new construction technologies to be developed for road bridges and structural repairs.
