Contact: ACG Sales and Marketing Director - Dr. Jon Stowell
Many yacht and boat manufacturers continue to use ACG's advanced composite prepregs for decking, hulls, spars and tooling applications. Our press releases and newsletters bear witness to their faith in our technically superior prepregs, and dedicated technical support service at each stage in the product evaluation, design and manufacturing process. The Group is also actively engaged in the design, development and manufacture of composite tooling for marine applications. Please refer to our Composite Tooling page, the associated Marine Product Selector Guide (PSG) and our Product Data Catalogue for additional information. Our Marine PSG has been designed to facilitate the selection of composite glass fibre reinforced plastic (GFRP)/carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) resin pre-impregnated (prepreg) materials for marine applications. General indications on mechanical performance and processing are also highlighted in the PSG. Full product details can be found in our standard product data sheets, which are located in our data catalogue. Specific details are available on request from our comprehensive fibre/resin material database. Our Marine PSG is designed to help prospective users identify the most suitable composite glass fibre reinforced plastic (GFRP)/carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) resin pre-impregnated (prepreg) material for a specific application, component type, and proposed processing technique. The PSG contains only the key processing or performance characteristics for our advanced resin systems, with detailed information relating to impregnation into a range of composite glass fibre reinforced plastic (GFRP) and carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) materials presented in individual product data sheets. The PSG provides a quick and easy reference for ACG prepregs commonly used in typical marine applications classified by terms of initial cure, i.e. LTM®, VTM® or MTM®, VTM®, VTA®, VTS and the final Tg (glass transition temperature) achievable after a complete cure cycle. Please refer to our Data Catalogue for a complete range of products. Use the Quick Links (above - left) to access the catalogue and PSG. ACG maintains an extensive mechanical property database characterising the wide and ever evolving range of resin and fibre combinations frequently encountered in the marine industry (Please contact ACG technical staff for further information). The ACG Technology Centre is a research facility geared to the specific needs of the marine composites industry. ACG draws upon 25 years experience in both component design and manufacture in providing the highest levels of technical support and targeted R&D through its team of dedicated technical support and R&D staff. ACG supported Alinghi as an Official Composites Supplier throughout its successful defence of the 32nd America's Cup, and is now supporting Ericsson Racing Team as an Official Supplier in the 2008/9 Volvo Ocean Race.
