The benefits of advanced composite materials have long been appreciated by sportsmen and women striving to achieve the best possible results at National, International and Olympic levels.

The carbon and glass fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP and GFRP) materials supplied by ACG have been at the forefront of medal winning performances in the sports arena for many years. The ease by which they can be processed and the strength and performance characteristics offered by these materials have enabled design in sports equipment to move forward at record breaking pace.

ACG's LTM® series and the MTM® series prepregs offer characteristics that are particularly suited for the requirements of the sports and leisure industry.

With the sports design, stress and research engineer in mind, ACG has prepared and collated an extensive database of mechanical properties. This database characterises a wide range of resin and fibre combinations, which frequently find application in sporting goods. The data is comprehensive and is ultimately prepared for finite element analysis and can be extended to new fibre/resin/test combinations as required.
