ACG

Advanced Composites Group provides a unique combination of composite materials, design, and manufacturing expertise, which is available to customers worldwide.

ACG Technology Centre - a Centre for Collaborative Research and Development

ACG Technology Centre's team of specialist materials, composites processing and design engineers continues to expand, combining a direct R&D service to customers, a testing and evaluation service to the Group companies, and a series of Government aided, joint venture programmes.

The team has access to a comprehensive range of chemical, environmental, instrumental, mechanical and non-destructive evaluation techniques in addition to prototype production facilities using press, autoclave and vacuum bag moulding.

ACG has been involved in collaborative development of composite materials and processes for many years.

Earlier projects have encompassed a wide range of applications including missile fins, defence components, artificial limbs, high speed machinery and crash resistant racing car structures.

Today's projects cover industries ranging from Aerospace to Civil Engineering and Automated Manufacturing Machinery.

The Technology Centre is not simply an R&D service, however. It is very pro-active in generating new ideas, establishing a need, organising interested parties, applying for funding and managing projects to completion.

Currently ACG are leading long-term projects involving:

• The development of high temperature resistant composites for a wide range of applications.
• The development of repair procedures for stressed components.

Other long-term joint ventures include:

• Affordable composites for civil engineering.
• Composites resistant to high electrical and mechanical loading.
• Affordable prepreg processes for aircraft and automotive prototypes, and for low volume production.

The Technology Centre's expertise has attracted partners and funding from all around the world, and many higher education establishments work with ACG in securing research funding.

If you are looking for a partner to develop your ideas in advanced composite materials or structures, our Technology Centre's Manager, Mark Steele, is ready to take your call.
